Reading’s very own comedy presenter, Miss England 2024 finalist and social media star with 600,000 social media followers, Elvira Styles is fast making a name for herself in the world of entertainment, most recently at the London premiere of the BBC’s brand-new show Stranded on Honeymoon Island, hosted by Davina McCall.

Elvira, who grew up in Reading and attended Little Heath School, had the opportunity to meet and interview Davina at the star-studded premiere. Not only did she spend time chatting with the TV legend, but Davina also shared invaluable advice and encouragement for Elvira’s journey as an emerging comedy presenter.

“Davina was an absolute gem — so warm and generous with her advice,” said Elvira.

“As someone who has watched her present shows for years, it felt surreal to be in conversation with her and even get to interview her myself.”

On her TikTok and Instagram profile, @elvira.styles, Elvira captured the night’s energy by interviewing Davina alongside other influencers. She asked the fun but revealing question: “What’s the one thing you couldn’t live without on a deserted island?” — a nod to the theme of the show.

From viral comedy sketches with over 26 million likes, to presenting at high-profile events, Elvira’s career is building fast. For her, this moment is particularly meaningful

She continued: “As someone who’s lived in Reading most of my life, it’s incredible to see my dreams of presenting come to life. I’m just a small-town girl navigating the big showbiz world, and I hope people from Reading can see that it’s possible to dream big and go for it.”

With a growing following online and appearances alongside major broadcasters like BBC, ITV, and Disney+, Elvira Styles is one to watch — and she’s proudly carrying Reading with her every step of the way.
