A woman in her 30s has died following a collision on the M4 in Berkshire.
Thames Valley Police said the crash happened at about 21:00 BST on Wednesday, 9 September, on the westbound carriageway between junctions 8/9 and 10.
A white Mercedes 220 collided with a white Scania heavy goods vehicle.
Shortly afterwards, a second collision involving a grey Kia Sorento happened on the eastbound carriageway.
The driver of the Mercedes, a woman in her 30s, died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
No arrests have been made.
Detective Sergeant Lyndsey Blackaby, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this extremely difficult time.”
She appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision and had not yet spoken to police to come forward.
The officer also urged motorists who were in the area at the time to check their dashcam footage.
“It may contain important information about the collision or the moments leading up to it,” she said.
