Two former Reading FC players are set to go head-to-head in the boxing ring as part of a charity fight night in London.
Former Royals defender Harlee Dean will take on ex-Reading striker Leroy Lita at Pro Project Promotions’ A Night to Remember III on Thursday, 22 October.
The pair will be among a number of former professional footballers taking part in seven exhibition bouts at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair.
Dean, who spent two seasons in Berkshire, will face Lita, who scored 32 goals and was part of the iconic ‘106’ promotion team in 2005/06, during his time with the Royals.
The heavyweight contest will see the two former footballers swap the pitch for the ring, with organisers describing it as a clash between Dean’s physical approach and Lita’s explosive power.
The event will be headlined by former footballers Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Nile Ranger.
There will also be a North London derby in the ring, with former Arsenal defender Armand Traore taking on ex-Tottenham Hotspur player Sebastien Bassong.
Other bouts include former Reading players Simon Cox against David Norris, while Lee Cook will face Martin Woods.
Gary Madine will take on Jamie Sendles-White, with Anthony Gardner and Matthew Briggs completing the card.
Pro Project Promotions said it had raised more than £201,500 for charity through its first two events and was aiming to reach £500,000 during its first year.
The seven three-round exhibition fights will be broadcast live worldwide on Sports.com.
