Reading FC Women will play all of their home league matches at the Select Car Leasing Stadium this season, marking their return to Reading after two years playing their home games in Slough.
The club had previously confirmed that some matches would be staged at the stadium during the 2026-27 campaign.
However, Reading’s head of women’s and girls’ football Emma Hopkins has now confirmed to FootballInBerkshire that every home league fixture in the Southern Region Women’s Football League Premier Division will be played at the SCL.
“All home league games will be at the SCL, we are still working on an alternative location for some cup fixtures,” Hopkins told Football in Berkshire.
The Royals’ first home league game back at the stadium will be against Fleet Town on Sunday, 13 September.
They will then host Beaconsfield Town in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup on 20 September before welcoming Oxford City in the league on 27 September.
Reading have played their home matches at Slough Town’s Arbour Park since 2024, following the collapse of the club’s women’s programme under former owner Dai Yongge.
The team had been relegated from the Women’s Super League in the 2022/23 season and subsequently moved to part-time status, before funding for the women’s side was eventually withdrawn altogether.
That left Reading’s women’s team a shadow of the side that had established itself in the top tier of the English game.
The Royals had spent years competing in the Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship, with the Select Car Leasing Stadium regularly hosting top-level women’s football.
The move back to the SCL represents another step in rebuilding the women’s side following the turmoil of the final years of the Yongge ownership.
Reading’s return to their home stadium also ends a period in which the team has had to play away from the town.
Reading now begin a new chapter in the fourth tier of the women’s game, with the club hoping that a return to the SCL can help reconnect the team with supporters in the town.
Their first home league fixture is against Fleet Town on Sunday, 13 September.
