Former Reading midfielder Ovie Ejaria has taken an unusual approach to finding his next club by advertising his availability on LinkedIn.
The 28-year-old midfielder is a free agent after spending last season with Spanish side Real Oviedo, where he made eight appearances in La Liga.
Ejaria used the professional networking platform to put his details in front of clubs, agents and recruitment staff as he looks for the next step in his career.
In his post, he outlined his versatility, saying he can play as a central midfielder, number six, number eight or number 10, as well as on the left wing.
He also highlighted that he is London-based and invited clubs, agents and recruiters to contact him directly.
Ejaria spent several years of his career at Reading, initially joining on loan before making the move permanent.
He made more than 100 appearances for the Royals before leaving the club in 2023.
His career began at Liverpool and included loan spells with Rangers and Sunderland.
Ejaria joined Sunderland on loan from Liverpool in January 2018 as Chris Coleman attempted to help the Black Cats avoid relegation from the Championship.
He made 11 appearances for Sunderland and scored his first senior goal on the final day of the season in a 3-0 win against eventual champions Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Sunderland’s relegation had already been confirmed by that stage and Ejaria returned to Liverpool in the summer.
He subsequently spent time on loan at Rangers before moving to Reading, where he established himself as an important member of the squad.
His latest move to LinkedIn comes as Ejaria searches for a new opportunity following his spell in Spain.
The midfielder will now be hoping his post catches the attention of a club looking to add an experienced player capable of operating in several midfield positions.
