A THEALE-based firm has been given a prestigious award for its investment in North American markets.

Temperature-controlled container specialist Tower Cold Chain received THETransatlantic Growth Award (TAG) from the BritishAmerican Business (BAB), the international chamber of commerce representing the interests of companies involved in transatlantic trade.

It was given the UK SME Growth & Investment in the US award following the opening in 2023 of its Americas Centre of Excellence.

This is a 26,000 sq ft site that ensures the availability of the entire Towers product portfolio, from 12- to more than 3,000-litre payloads, and covering a temperature range from -80°C to +20°C.

The company says it demonstrates its commitment to providing availability and proximity for its expanding US customer base in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, airline, and 3PL sectors.

Only six TAGs are awarded annually, representing UK investment into the US, and vice versa, across three sizes of company.

The announcement was made at a reception held at the Institute of Directors in London.

Earlier the same day, Tower CEO Niall Balfour participated in a roundtable of business representatives to discuss ‘UK investment and expansion in the US.’

“We’re honoured by this accolade, which is fiercely contested and carefully judged by BritishAmerican Business’ experts in transatlantic growth and investment,” he said.

“It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Tower team on both sides of the Pond.”

BritishAmerican Business CEO Duncan Edwards said: “We are incredibly proud to recognise the winners of this year’s Transatlantic Growth Awards. These companies exemplify the dynamic and robust nature of the transatlantic trade and investment relationship.

“Their successes not only drive growth and create jobs but also strengthen the bonds between the UK and the US. Congratulations to all the winners for their remarkable achievements and their continued contributions to the transatlantic business landscape.”
