Former Reading FC academy twins Joseph and Jubilee Ntege are closing in on a move to Premier League side Nottingham Forest.
The 16-year-old brothers have attracted interest from clubs across Europe since leaving the Royals, but Forest are now reportedly close to securing both players.
The latest development comes just weeks after Reading Today reported that the twins were being monitored by Forest, Norwich City, German side Augsburg and Belgian club Genk following an impressive season.
According to reports, Forest are now set to beat Norwich to the highly-rated youngsters.
The72 reported last week that Norwich had been interested in the pair but that the twins were now close to joining Forest, citing the Daily Mail.
Joseph and Jubilee left Reading after spending time in the club’s academy and went on to attract significant attention following their performances last season.
The twins reportedly enjoyed an outstanding campaign, with Joseph registering 35 goal contributions across all competitions and Jubilee recording 33.
Their form led to interest from a number of clubs, with Reading Today previously reporting that Forest were among those monitoring the brothers.
The pair’s potential move to Forest would see them continue their development at a Premier League club.
Forest have increasingly invested in young players and academy prospects, with the twins now seemingly set to join a pathway that could eventually lead towards first-team football.
The potential move will be of particular interest to Reading supporters given the twins’ previous association with the Royals.
The brothers were part of Reading’s academy before their departure, with their performances subsequently attracting attention from clubs outside England as well as domestic sides.
A move to Nottingham would represent another significant step in the young players’ careers and provide them with the opportunity to develop within a Premier League environment.
The deal has not yet been officially confirmed by either Nottingham Forest or the players.
However, reports indicate that the twins are now close to completing their move to the City Ground.
For Reading, the development provides another reminder of the young talent that has passed through the club’s academy, while supporters will be watching closely to see how the brothers’ careers develop at Premier League level.
