A fast food chain named after an iconic boxer and actor in the A-Team is celebrating its second anniversary in Reading with offers for customers.
Mr T’s was first launched in 2016, being named after Laurence T, the boxer and actor who played the character Bosco ‘B.A.’ Baracus in the A-Team TV series from the 1980s.
The first location in Bradford attracted visits from boxers Floyd Mayweather and Tyson Fury, with fellow professional boxer Deontay Wilder opening the branch in Batley in August 2019.
Mr T’s came to Reading in August 2024, taking over an exterior unit of the Broad Street Mall facing Oxford Road.
To celebrate the second anniversary, customers can enjoy 25 per cent off selected food items.
The promotion runs from Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, August 30.
The day before, queues of people gathered for an even more generous offer of 50 per cent off.
The event was celebrated with a balloon arch and a cake cutting.
Mr T’s is open from 12pm to midnight Sunday to Thursday, and from 12pm to 2am Friday to Saturday.
The chain won permission for these extended hours after applying for a late night refreshments licence from Reading Borough Council, which was granted in December 2024.
The restaurant in Oxford Road has 4.8 stars out of five according to reviews on Google.
A recent review by J B Mahmud states: “It’s a great place for burger choices, funky drinks and good options for desserts and milkshakes.
“The food quality is great and fresh.”
