STUDENTS across the borough are joining those around the country collecting their GCSE results today, Thursday, August 20, as well as those who took Vocational technical qualifications (VTQs).

For those who are disappointed with their results, Reading Borough Council’s Elevate careers service will be available to provide advice and guidance on progression into education, training and employment for anyone who requires support.

It also offers face-to-face appointments at a range of locations across Reading to discuss your options with one of our careers advisers.

Cllr Rachel Eden, Lead Councillor for Education and Public Health at Reading Borough Council, said: “A huge well done to everyone receiving results this morning.

“You should be incredibly proud, and I hope you are happy with your results, but if you need any guidance, our careers service is on hand to offer support.

“Whether you move on to sixth form, college, employment or an apprenticeship, we wish you the very best of luck.”
