Reading FC manager Leam Richardson has emerged as one of the names in the betting to become Bradford City’s next manager.
Richardson is currently priced at 4/1 and is third in the betting market, behind former Preston North End boss Paul Heckingbottom and former Bradford manager Stuart McCall.
The market comes after Bradford manager Graham Alexander left the League One leaders to take charge of Championship side Preston North End.
Alexander’s departure was confirmed after Preston approached Bradford following the sacking of Heckingbottom earlier this month.
Bradford had made an impressive start to the League One season under Alexander, winning five of their opening seven matches to sit top of the table.
The Bantams will face Reading on Saturday, although their fixture against Barnsley this weekend was postponed because of international call-ups. Their next League One match is now against Reading on 3 October.
Richardson took charge of Reading during the 2025/26 season and remains under contract with the Royals. He has made a relatviely promising start to the new campaign with Reading showing strong form at home despite struggling away.
The 46-year-old previously managed Wigan Athletic, Rotherham United and Accrington Stanley before joining Reading.
There is currently no indication that Bradford have approached Richardson or that he is being considered for the vacancy beyond his appearance in the betting market.
Heckingbottom is also among the names linked with the Bradford position after being dismissed by Preston earlier this month.
McCall has a long association with Bradford, having managed the club between 2007 and 2010 and again from 2016 to 2018.
