A BERKSHIRE independent, co-educational day and boarding school is delighted to announce the exceptional academic achievements of its Year 11 cohort in this year’s GCSE examinations.
Pangbourne College students’ 2026 results continue the trajectory of the outstanding and record results achieved at the school last year.
This year over one third of all grades achieved were grades 9-7 demonstrating the remarkable dedication, resilience and ambition of the students.
Beyond individual high grades, these results also showcase the exceptional Value Added performance of +0.63 across the cohort.
The Value Added score measures the true academic progress a pupil makes by comparing their final GCSE results against baseline statistical predictions established upon entry into the College.
This year, every student has on average secured over half a grade higher across each of their nine subjects than they would have done elsewhere.
By outperforming their baseline expectations, Pangbourne College pupils have demonstrated that tailored teaching, robust mentoring and a supportive learning environment significantly lift individual trajectories.
Mr Oliver Knight, head of Pangbourne College, said: “We are immensely proud of the achievements of all Year 11 pupils and the successes they have demonstrated in their examinations this summer.
“The support of the staff and parents has been unwavering.
“We are looking forward to welcoming the students into our Sixth Form in September and with their potential, they will undoubtedly serve as leaders and role models, inspiring excellence across our whole school community.”
The College congratulates all pupils, including the following individuals who achieved stellar performances as they transition into the College’s Sixth Form in September:
Maisie who achieved 10 GCSEs with 8 at grade 9 and two at grade 8; Flora who gained 9 GCSEs including 9s in Combined Science, English Language and Literature; Anna who has 9 GCSEs including 9s in English Language, Religious Studies, Spanish and Art; Albert who achieved 10 GCSEs ranging from grades 9-7 including 9s in Biology and English Language; and Steven who attained 9 GCSEs at grades 9-7.
Mr Mark Seccombe, senior deputy academic, said: “These results are a brilliant validation of our academic philosophy.
“We are thrilled to see how our focus on academic rigour and Value Added scores helps every individual pupil succeed.
At Pangbourne we deliberately curate a broad intake and through our investment in developing excellent teachers as well as maximising every pupil’s individual potential, we are delighted to reap incredible dividends.
“Our pupils have shown outstanding personal and academic growth, and we look forward to supporting them through their diverse pathways in the Sixth Form.”
