Reading FC legend Nicky Shorey was back in Reading on Sunday for his Q&A event at the Purple Turtle.

The former left back, who became the first man to represent England while playing for Reading for more than 100 years, played for the club in all three of their seasons in the Premier League.

Now part of the back room staff at West Ham, Shorey worked at Reading’s academy after his playing days came to an end.

His Purple Turtle Q&A featured plenty of funny and revealing stories about his former Reading team-mates. He also named former manager Alan Pardew and coach Kevin Dillon as two of the men who had the biggest influence on his career.

There are two more Q&A events with Reading FC legends coming up at the Purple Turtle this month.

On Sunday (November 17), Adam Le Fondre returns to Reading for the first time to talk about his time at the club – including Reading’s most recent Premier League season.

Then, on Sunday November 24, Jem Karacan is at the Purple Turtle to reminisce about his time in Berkshire – and being part of the Reading side that won promotion back to the Premier League.

Both events start at 1pm, with doors opening at 12pm.
