READING Buses has announced that fares from Caversham to Reading have been reduced.

From this week, the single fare on all Reading Buses services between Caversham Centre and central Reading will be priced at £1.50 for a single journey.

The company explains that “short hop” journeys between the town centre and Caversham Library (via the Pink 22, Berry 23/24), Prospect Street (via Pink 25), Westfield Road (via Aqua 18), or on any of the Little Berries 27/29 route, will be subject to the fare change.

Robert Williams, Reading Buses Chief Executive Officer said, “We are introducing the £1.50 fare in a concerted effort to grow patronage and reduce congestion.

“It is 35% less than our normal single fare in Reading, and half the national single fare cap of £3 that applies to journeys of any distance.”

“We have some more exciting developments for our buses in Caversham to come in September, which will be revealed soon.”
