Improvements have been made to a pub and restaurant in Tilehurst after an upgrade project.
The Water Tower in Park Lane has served for years as a family pub and restaurant near its namesake landmark, which is easily visible from the pub itself.
It recently underwent an upgrade courtesy of its owning company, Greene King.
A closure for renovations lasted for five weeks, with the pub reopening on Thursday, July 9.
Photos show dining tables and new artwork inside, with wallpaper art dedicated to the heritage of the area featuring information about the Tilehurst Water Tower, Calcot Park and The Triangle.
The Water Tower has undergone an operating transition from the managed ‘Flaming Grill’ brand to a Hive pub.
A spokesperson said: “We are delighted that the Water Tower has reopened as one of our popular franchise Hive pubs.
“We are looking forward to welcoming the community back to enjoy our new offering.”
Flaming Grill is a family restaurant-focused brand, with Hive being a franchise model for community-focused pubs with a stronger drink-to-food balance.
A post on the Greene King Pub Partners Facebook page announced the change in April.
The company won permission from Reading Borough Council to upgrade the outdoor area, involving the creation of a new pergola and reopening a door that had been sealed off last month.
The operator has also applied for a licence to serve food until 12.30am and sell alcohol until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
