Police are appealing for witnesses to a violent disorder incident in Reading, after several men were involved in an altercation

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to a violent disorder incident in Reading.

Between 8pm – 9pm on Thursday, December 12, several men were involved in an altercation involving the use of a weapon on Gower Street and Oxford Road.

Two men in their twenties sustained serious injuries which required hospital treatment, though both have been discharged.

A 22-year-old man and a 20-year-old-man, both from Reading, were arrested on Thursday, December 12, on suspicion of violent disorder.

A 27-year-old man, also from Reading, was arrested on Thursday, December 13, on suspicion of violent disorder.

All three have been released on bail.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Peter Principi said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen this incident or has any information that can assist my investigation.

“I am also appealing to anyone with dash-cam, doorbell or mobile phone footage to please get in touch.

“If you have information, please call 101 or make an online report to our website, quoting 43240601693.

“Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via its website.”
