Local writer and actor Angela Garwood is set to launch a new series of adult acting workshops in Wokingham in January 2026.

“This is Acting” workshops are aimed at anyone looking to build confidence, explore their creativity and develop their acting skills in a friendly and supportive environment.

Open to complete beginners as well as those looking to hone their craft, the sessions are designed to be fun, engaging, and accessible to all.

Through a mix of games, improvisation exercises and script work, Garwood hopes to create a welcoming space where people can enjoy themselves and try something different without any long-term commitment.

“Acting classes should be available on a low-key, affordable basis to anyone who wants to experience them,” says Garwood. “The confidence people gain through acting training and performance – being creative in small groups and learning from each other – can be life- changing.”

Workshops will run on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8:30pm, starting 14 January 2026, in the Main Hall at the Bradbury Centre, Rose Street, Wokingham (RG40 1XS).
