A consultation has opened into the next stage of the hotly debated plans for almost 4,000 homes at Hall Farm, between Shinfield and Arborfield, also known as the Loddon VAlley strategic development.
Real estate firm Savills, acting on behalf of its clients University of Reading, Gleeson Land & Hatch Farm Land Ltd, has launched a scoping opinion to determine the content of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the proposed development of the site.
The outline plans for the site will deliver around 3,930 dwellings together with associated infrastructure (to include internal roads/internal and external access points. landscaping, site wide flood alleviation and surface water drainage and other required infrastructure).
The site will also feature a new link road over the M4 motorway to Lower Earley Way, new junctions and potential highway upgrades to existing routes.
A new neighbourhood and district centre, including retail, leisure, sports, cultural, health and service facilities, and associated education facilities to include primary and secondary school provision will also be created, alongside a country park.
The 189-page report, which was submitted to Wokingham Borough Council on December 19, includes information regarding the ecology, archeology, ground conditions and noise levels.
The consultation is open for comments until January 10, 2025.
