Former Reading FC goalkeeper Luke Southwood is searching for a new club this summer after he rejected the offer of a new contract at Cheltenham Town.

Despite facing the drop down to League Two, Southwood was offered a new deal by the Robins, but has opted to reject that in search of a new venture.

Southwood rose through the ranks at Reading’s academy and made 30 first-team appearances for the club, including 25 Championship games in the 2021/22 season.

Following an initial loan spell with Cheltenham for the 2022/23 campaign, Southwood signed a one-year deal with the club after he was released by the Royals in May 2023.

Cheltenham suffered the drop on the final day of the season after finishing in 21st place and two points off survival.

The 26-year-old also has one international cap for Northern Ireland which came in 2021.
