Former Reading FC manager Ruben Selles is reportedly facing a fight to keep his job at Hull City despite avoiding relegation.

The former Royal departed to join Hull in December with Reading in 6th position in League One, while the Tigers were fighting to keep their Championship status.

Hull finally managed to stave off relegation on the final day of the Championship season by picking up a point away to Portsmouth which meant that Luton Town were relegated, suffering relegation in successive seasons having been in the Premier League in the 2023/24 campaign.

However, reports are now suggesting that Hull are currently assessing their options ahead of deciding the future of Selles.

Hull made the bizarre decision to sack precious manager Liam Rosenior, another former Royal, at the end of last season despite only missing out on the play-offs by one place.

Hull owner Acun Ilical has been heavily criticised by the Tigers’ fanbase having already gone through three managers in the past two seasons.
