A PETROL station in West Reading will now be able to serve alcohol 24 hours a day.
The Shell garage on Oxford Road on the Norcot junction has been granted permission from Reading Borough Council.
Conditions include a ban on selling super strength drinks such as Frosty Jacks cider and Tennent’s Super Strong Lager.
And at night, from 11pm to 5am, purchases must be made through a hatch, with the doors to the store kept locked.
Staff must operate a Challenge 25 age verification, and undergo training on security and refusal of service. They must also keep a written record of sale refusals as a condition of the licence.
Shell must ensure all sale areas are covered by CCTV.
No one objected to the licence application during a consultation period.
