Peterborough United manager Darren Fergsuon believes his side were ‘far superior’ despite losing to Reading FC on Saturday.
The Royals were able to collect just their second league victory on the road this campaign which puts them just outside the play-off positions after Harvey Knibbs’ double saw off the Posh.
“I thought we were very good,” said Peterborough manager Ferguson.
“They’re decent and we’ve been absolutely by far the superior team, but the game is won by how many goals you score and they’re 2-0 up by half-time. I don’t know how, but they are.
“I was still confident at half-time, I thought we just needed the next goal. They’re not used to winning away from home.
“If we had gotten it five minutes earlier, I think we’d have gotten something.
“Even when we scored I thought we’d get something.
“We’re just too inconsistent and that’s over a third of the season. It simply has to change and if it doesn’t then we’ll just end up around the middle of the league.”
Reading are back in League One action tomorrow night when they make the trip to Barnsley.
