Reading FC Women’s manager Liam Gilbert has called on his team to ‘fight’ as they enter the final chapter of the season in the Women’s Championship.
The Royals sit in 10th position just above the relegation places where they are currently two points clear with three matches left to play.
“We’ve had some good, honest conversations,” said Gilbert.
“We’ve looked back at the footage and it’s been a recurring theme that we’ve not come out in the second-half of games for the last three weeks.
“That’s something we’ve identified we must do better.
“Blackburn last time out was exactly this, the first-half we were the better team by a long way, but all that matters at this point of the season is points.”
Having faced Rovers prior to the international break, where Reading were beaten 4-1, they now face a reverse trip to Blackburn on Sunday.
Gilbert continued: “Playing the same team back-to-back is different, it gives us the ability to have a bigger deep dive into the opposition and to look at things more in depth.
“So, it’s been an interesting week from an analysis point of view, so we’ll have to see how the game will play out.
“Obviously the game last time out had many different positives and negatives, and I don’t think it was right to focus on just one.
“I do think a lot of what we worked in going into the game, translated well onto the pitch. However, making the same mistakes, conceding the goals we are, it cannot happen so that’s one thing we have to improve on.
“It’s something we obviously cannot ignore, so we have to fight together, to rectify these issues and we know that with a win on Sunday we’re given our hopes of survival a huge boost.”
