Thames Hospice have been proudly serving our community for more than 30 years, they offer world-class palliative and end-of-life care and support to people aged 16 years and over across East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire.

Thames Hospice are excited to announce that they are opening a new Superstore in Richfield Avenue, Reading. Amongst the retail hub, the repair workshop and the distribution centre for donated goods, there will also be a coffee shop! Can you help them in our coffee shop? If you enjoy meeting people, serving coffee and refreshments, they want to hear from you!

They are looking for volunteers willing to commit 2 hours of their time a week. You’ll make new friends, be part of a big project, raise funds for Thames Hospice and learn new skills to add to your CV.

Reading Family Aid has been a registered charity since 1993. RFA is staffed entirely by volunteers, they don’t employ any staff or maintain any premises. The money that they raise is mostly spent on their programme of activities for the children and families they support.

They are currently looking for a Volunteer Outings Organiser for disadvantaged families. This role will include tasks such as: Planning and costing outings for the forthcoming financial year, Liaising with partner organisations, Booking coaches, Booking destinations such as farm parks and arranging for ticket purchases, Attending the outings and more!

As this opportunity is administration-based, volunteers will require Good IT Skills such as having a knowledge of Excel, Word and Gmail systems, outstanding organisational skills and must show an enthusiasm to promote first hand experiences for children and their families!
