MARKET Place in central Reading has been closed following a police incident.
A police cordon has been put in place covering Market Square, with Thames Valley Police officers attending the scene.
The cordon covers the whole of Market Place Square and some of the path which runs between the square and the businesses on the west side.
Bus routes running through Market Square are currently unaffected as the road is not blocked.
Thames Valley Police were unable to provide any further details, though officers advised that members of the public keep away from the scene while they continued their investigation.
Reports of police presence were received at around 3.30pm.
