A MAN has been sentenced for fraud and shoplifting offences in Bracknell.
Shane King, aged 32 and of no fixed abode, was sentenced at Reading Magistrates Court on Monday, June 1, to 8 weeks imprisonment.
King pleaded guilty to one count each of: fraud by false representation and theft from a shop.
He had stolen a bank card and made false representation, intending to cause loss to the victim. In addition, King was seen on CCTV shoplifting a number of items from BP on Bagshot Road. He stole around £120 worth of stock including meat, soft drinks and pizza.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable James MacPherson said, “This sentence reflects the seriousness of shoplifting and the impact it has on businesses and communities.
“We quickly identified King’s actions, recovered stolen items and ensured he was brought before the courts.
“We will continue to take robust action against shoplifting and retail crime to support local businesses and keep our communities safe.”
