POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Reading last week.
At around 3.50am on Saturday, September 5, a man in his twenties was chased by a group of males from the bus stops on St Mary’s Butts, and then assaulted near the Red Burger Kiosk at the junction of St Marys Butts and Oxford Road.
He sustained injuries which required hospital treatment, but has since been discharged.
The offenders are described as a group of both white and black men, aged between 18 and 30.
Police staff investigator Chris Birkitt of the Priority Crime Team said: “I understand that an incident of this nature may cause concern in the community but please be assured that we are investigating this as a priority.

“If you have dash-cam, doorbell or mobile footage of the incident, or the moments before or after it, please send it to us.”
