Former Reading FC manager Ruben Selles admitted that he is pleased that he is able to continue his development as a manager after moving to Hull City.
After all the turmoil at Reading, Selles chose to leave the club to join Championship side Hull City.
Despite working under extremely difficult conditions, Selles had managed to mould his Reading team into one that was challenging for a play-off place with the team in 6th when he departed.
Meanwhile, he is now at Hull and fighting to stay in the Championship.
The Spaniard picked up his first victory as Tigers boss on the weekend with a 2-1 success over Swansea City which was enough to lift Hull out of the relegation places.
They sit just one point above the drop zone, but all three sides below them have a game in hand to play.
Speaking to Sky Sports last week, Selles said: “I will never imagine that we will have all the difficulties that we had at Reading.
“We learnt how to cope with a lot of different situations and off the pitch with things that don’t usually happen at a football club.
“Thanks to those moments of difficulty and the players and staff that were with me in all those moments and all the fans supporting us, we had a chance to come here (Hull) to continue our progression.
“I think Reading needed to happen in my career – I’m very grateful for that and I hope I can use all that knowledge now in my new home at Hull.”
