Amanda Lehmann – Tinkerbell – When a guitarist as good as Steve Hackett chooses someone to join him on guitar and backing/lead vocals in his touring band you know they must be good. That’s the case with Amanda Lehmann who has regularly toured with Steve and who will be again later this year. If you want to see how good Amanda is in her own right there is a great opportunity to see her renowned solo acoustic set when she opens the main stage at Wokingham Festival on August Bank Holiday Monday. That should be a very special occasion! Amanda has a wonderfully emotive voice which, combined with her beautifully atmospheric acoustic guitar playing, creates some entrancing moments. ‘Tinkerbell’ is from Amanda’s excellent ‘Innocence and Illusion’ album – https://www.amandalehmann.co.uk/

A Better Life (feat. Pete Rawcliffe) – Cold Goodbye – The ‘A Better Life’ collective get better and better with every release. This has the chilled elements we have come to know and love combined with the incredible vocals of occasional collaborator, Pete Rawcliffe. The track begins with Pete’s beautiful tones before a cool groove and atmospheric keyboards and percussion guide you through this impressive downtempo piece – https://abetterlifemusic.com/

Delaney Davidson – Heaven Is Falling – We’ve mentioned before about the quality artists that Club Velocity/New Mind Promotions bring into Reading but this must be one of the furthest travelled. Delaney is from New Zealand! He has quite a unique gothic country sound and, as songs such as this one, from his latest album, ‘Out of My Head’, show he writes extremely moving songs which he performs with his distinctive impressive voice. Well worth getting along to Reading Face Bar on 7th July for this one – https://www.delaneydavidson.com/

Jopy – Head Hunters Pub And Grub – A song about cannibals that operate a pub, eat the customers and get superpowers from that! See if Jopy have superpowers when they play a Club Velocity Show on September 27th at Rising Sun Arts Centre – https://linktr.ee/jopymusic

Third Lung – Pin Stripe Maroon – It’s another slice of power, melody and quality from one of our fave Reading based bands – https://www.thirdlungband.com/

The Paradox Twin – Planeta – This Reading band performs the whole of their debut album, ‘The Importance of Mr Bedlam’ at South Street Arts Centre on June 20th. They will also play a special festival set at Wokingham Festival in August – https://www.theparadoxtwin.com/
