Local motor racing star Luca Osborne is looking to continue his success in the Mini Challenge Trophy.

Luca, who was born in Italy ,but raised in and around Wokingham and Berkshire is currently moving into his third year of competitive racing and was able to taste podium success last year.

The 20-year-old, who previously attended Bearwood Primary School and the Forest Secondary School, is now in his third year of studying Esports at the University of Northampton.

“I’m moving into my third year of racing and I’m looking to improve on my podium success last year,” said Luca.

“Out of the 30 cars on the grid I want to be the one to win the races and hopefully the title too.

“ first got into motorsport at various rental karting facilities in Maidenhead and Esher, Surrey – at the age of about 11 until I was 17

“After competing in their in-house championships, my family and I decided to make the jump to Tin Tops, which is your entry level closed wheel and roof cars.

“ In my case it was racing Ford KA’s in an endurance format. Up to 12 hours at one point.

“After doing two races and getting some good results there, I had proved myself as one of the fastest on track amongst the whole grid.

“We then made the even bigger jump to a national level championship with the MINI CHALLENGE Trophy class.

From a personal point of view after a lacklustre two seasons, I have now built up experience and speed to be able to compete at the front of the field.

“After achieving my maiden podium last year my goal is to go for race wins and the overall championship this year.

“It will be a tough ask with the championship being arguably the most competitive in the country.

“Alongside the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) on ITV I hope to make myself stand out from the rest of the crowd and make my way up the British Motorsport ladder and one day compete within the BTCC myself.’

Looking ahead to his future in racing, Luca is hoping to secure sponsorship to try and help fund his endeavours.

He continued: “, motorsport can be very expensive, therefore as part of racing, myself and my family seek sponsorship which in turn allows businesses of all shapes and sizes to have the opportunity to be exposed on live tv, and other media platforms.

“I would love to support some of the local businesses by giving them national exposure.
