Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was allegedly subjected to racist abuse inside a Reading restaurant.
The incident happened at Nando’s in the Oracle shopping centre on Sunday 10 May between 14:05 BST and 14:20 BST.
According to Thames Valley Police, a man was seen shouting and swearing at a group of three teenagers inside the restaurant.
Officers said the woman, who was there with her children, challenged the man over his behaviour towards the teenagers.
The man then allegedly turned his attention towards the woman and made comments referring to her skin colour.
Police said the victim was left distressed by the incident.
The suspect is described as a white man, aged about 30, with an average build and brown hair. He was believed to be around 5ft 9in tall, hunched over, and wearing an orange T-shirt with “1978” written on it.
Thames Valley Police is asking anyone who was in or around Nando’s at the Oracle Centre during the time of the incident to come forward.
