THAMES Valley Police has announced that a body has been found during the search for a man missing from Reading.

Gareth, 64 and from Reading, was reported missing on Friday, October 18, but officers have found a body while conducting search operations.

Formal identification is yet to confirm the identity of the person found, but Thames Valley Police believes it to be that of Gareth and have informed his next of kin.

The death is being treated as unexplained but is not considered suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

In a statement posted to social media, Thames Valley Police said: “Officers searching for missing man Gareth, aged 64, from Reading, have very sadly located a body.

“Gareth had been reported missing on 18 October.
