A man has been jailed for 27 months after police recovered class A drugs during two separate arrests in Reading.
Alfie Smith was stopped by officers in October 2024 near Anstey Road, where he attempted to evade police before being detained and searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Thames Valley Police said officers recovered six wraps of crack cocaine and heroin during the search.
In December 2024, Smith was again seen by officers while cycling in Reading. Police said he attempted to flee by abandoning his bike and running away, but was quickly caught.
During a subsequent search, officers found nine wraps of crack cocaine hidden in his sock, along with a further three wraps of class A drugs discovered nearby after they were discarded.
Cash and mobile phones were also recovered during both incidents.
Smith was later charged in connection with drug supply offences and has now been sentenced to 27 months in prison.
