THAMES Valley Police has charged a man from Newbury with murder following the death of a Tilehurst man last year.
Ryan Willicombe, aged 18, of Home Straight, Newbury, was charged with one count each of murder, attempted GBH, and causing death by dangerous driving on the morning of Wednesday, September 27.
The charge relates to the death of 19-year-old Sheldon Lewcock, who died in hospital following a collision on Pierces Hill in August last year.
Willicombe was remanded in custody and appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court today.
He is also due to appear at Reading Crown Court tomorrow.
Mr Lewcock, aged 19, was hit by a van at around 6.10pm on Thursday, August 4, and died in hospital on the following Tuesday, August 9.
The Major Crime Unit’s investigation concluded and the investigation was passed to the Joint Operations Roads Policing Serious Collision Investigation Unit who continued to investigate the circumstances around this road traffic collision.
