A man has been arrested on suspicion of a drug offence after police stepped up patrols in a Reading park following reports of suspected drug-related anti-social behaviour.
Officers and police community support officers (PCSOs) from Thames Valley Police’s Southcote and Tilehurst neighbourhood team increased patrols in Prospect Park after receiving reports of suspected drug-related anti-social behaviour.
During a patrol, officers arrested a man on suspicion of possessing a large quantity of a Class B drug.
Police said they also seized cash and a Sur-Ron electric bike during the incident.
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “Following reports of drug-related ASB within Prospect Park, officers and PCSOs from the local Southcote and Tilehurst neighbourhood team have increased patrols of the area.
“While on patrol today, a male was arrested for possession of a large amount of Class B, cash and a Sur-Ron bike.
“Please continue to report issues affecting your local area.”
Police have not released further details about the man, including his age, or confirmed whether he has been charged. The investigation is ongoing.
