A WOMAN was injured during a hit and run incident in west Reading and police are appealing for witnesses.

The 32-year-old woman was riding an e-scooter on Tilehurst Road at its junction with Western Elms Avenue.

She went over the bonnet of a small, red car.

She was taken to hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged.

The incident took place around 7.20am on Sunday, January 21.

Thames Valley Police said a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specific controlled drug above the specified limit, failing to stop after a road accident, driving on a road while not wearing a seatbelt and driving a vehicle without due care and attention.

He has been released under investigation.

Investigating officer PC Jamie Payne, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “I’m appealing to anybody who witnessed this collision or who may have dash-cam footage of the incident to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.

“You can do so by calling 101 or making a report online, quoting reference number 43240031397.”
