Great Western Railway (GWR) has said that news on various social media channels that indicated passengers would be unable to join its new overnight service to Gatwick airport at Wokingham station is false.
Several posts appeared last week which indicated the services from Reading would only be allowing passengers to alight in Wokingham.
GWR had announced earlier this year that it would be trialing overnight services between Reading and the airport along the North Downs Line.
This, it said, will improve rail access to the airport from communities along the line itself, the wider Thames Valley, and the rest of the GWR network including the west of England and south Wales.
A spokesperson for Great Western Railway told Wokingham Today: “Customers can certainly travel from Wokingham to Gatwick on the new services.”
