Former Reading FC star Michael Olise has completed his move to Bayern Munich, with the Royals set to benefit from the deal.

Due to a sell on clause, the Royals are expected to earn around £4.5million after Munich paid Crystal Palace more than £50million for the 22-year-old star.

Olise has become one of the brightest young players in the world and was able to make his name thanks to opportunities given to him by the Reading Academy.

Having been in the academies of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester – it was at Reading where he was given a chance to flourish.

Having joined the academy in 2017, Olise made his first-team debut in March 2019.

He went on to make a total of 73 appearances in a Reading shirt and was recognised for his outstanding performances in the 2020/21 season by being awarded the EFL young player of the year award.

Olise made his move to the Premier League in July 2021 as Palace activated his £8million release clause.

After several mesmerising performances with Palace, he captured the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

He now joins the German giants as they look to recapture the Bundesliga title from Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen having appointed Vincent Kompany as their new manager last month.
