A grassroots queer and trans artist collective has been put forward for the Cultural Contribution award, sponsored by M&G Real Estate.
A nominator said: “Double Okay do some incredible work that creates a safe, creative space for queer people in Reading.
“I am quite anxious and find it hard to be creative, but I have taken part in the performance workshops that they ran at Reading Rep Theatre and also a few of their zine making workshops, and I have felt safe and supported the whole time.”
A zine is a small circulation publication.
