THE WREN School in Reading has congratulated its Year 13 pupils for reaching the end of their study courses and well-deserved results.

One of the pupils, Thomas, received AAA and an A grade in his Extended Project Qualification, and is now set to study History at the University of Southampton.

Principal John Salberg said that the school was delighted to celebrate its pupils as they go forward and leave secondary education.

He said: “We are proud of each and every one of our students– they have shown huge levels of commitment, resilience, and positivity throughout their time in our Sixth Form and throughout their challenging educational journey.

“It is testament to their attitude, hard work, and agility, alongside the tireless dedication of our staff that we can stand here together with these exceptional young people and celebrate their successes.

“Our students are rightly proud of their achievements, efforts and successes and deserve all our praise.”

He explained: “Today is not about simply looking at results but recognising the dedication our students have shown over the last two years.

“We must not forget the journey they have been on, an educational journey significantly impacted by a global pandemic and limited by not gaining the valuable experience of sitting national exams before.

“However, every single one of our students has come through these experiences, stronger, wiser and with the knowledge and belief that they possess the character and skills needed to excel in wherever their journey takes them.

“They are exceptional, inspiring, and talented young adults, and we could not be prouder of them.”

He continued: “Thanks must also go to our dedicated and passionate staff who have worked so incredibly hard supporting our students, and to our families and the whole of The Wren community for their continued support and encouragement.

“We wish all our students the very best as they look forward to their own remarkable futures, and a safe and enjoyable remainder of the summer.”
