Over The Wall is a charity that helps children, young people and their families, living in the UK, reach beyond the boundaries of their health challenges to discover a world of mischief and new possibilities.

They are seeking more Volunteer Camp Teammates to support campers throughout their time at Camp, encouraging, inspiring and empowering campers as they complete camp activities.

You will be part of a team of other amazing volunteers, having fun and creating amazing experiences.

Their upcoming Health Challenge Camp takes place between April 7-12 in Dorset, you can learn more about the opportunity on the Reading Volunteer Connect platform.

Green Health Thames Valley supports clients with mental health difficulties through a tailored programme of horticulture-based activities.

They have a private garden in Whitley and are looking for volunteers to help maintain it during their opening hours, which are 10am until 3pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They want help with gardening tasks, DIY jobs and general site maintenance.

This opportunity does not require you to provide mental health support to their clients. They welcome any time that can be offered to help maintain our garden, but do ask that a commitment is made to do this regularly.

Since March 1987, The Link Café is a community project involving Churches in Tilehurst, organised and run by volunteers. It is a Christian Coffee Shop and Meeting Place.

Have you got a few hours free? Why not join The Link Café’s dedicated team of volunteers to cook and serve food. Various tasks include: Setting up the café before opening, taking orders from customers and passing them to the kitchen, delivering orders to customers at the tables and other catering tasks.

What is in it for you? You’ll have a hands-on working understanding and knowledge of food safety and hygiene rules in a café setting and its importance.

There are plenty of opportunities for applying good communication skills with staff and customers and the experience would be a great addition to your CV.

Take a look at our brand new Reading Volunteer Connect platform for details of these and many more opportunities to volunteer via our website, www.rgneeds.me. Want to get in touch? Drop us an email at volunteering@rva.org.uk or call 0118 937 2273.
