VISITORS at an upcoming community event could be inspired to start producing their own fruit and veg, thanks to a Wokingham charity.
Freely Fruity will help residents plant their own salad, herb and strawberry crops at a workshop held at the Whitley Community Centre, Northumberland Avenue on Thursday, June 1.
All are welcome to the free event, with pots, compost, seeds and plants provided by the charity.
Organised in collaboration with the Whitley Community Development Association, visitors will also be able to purchase reasonably priced food and drink from the on-site cafe.
The group is currently working alongside the University of Reading on the the FoodSEqual project, which is exploring food systems in underserved communities across the UK.
The event takes place from 11am-1pm.
