PALMER Park saw a splash of the Mediterranean sun on Friday, when Summertime Live’s Classic Ibiza came to Reading, sponsored by Cafe del Mar.

The event saw a big top filled with the sound of club classics performed by the 32-piece Urban Soul Orchestra, accompanied by a number of vocal performers and DJs, including Artful Dodger and a set from Goldierocks.

Attendees were also invited to try new spirits from Ibiza’s renowned Cafe del Mar, whose gin and vodka was on hand at a dedicated stall.

Their gin offering was a clean, light spirit with bright, citrus notes and a sweet after taste, while the vodka’s subtle elderflower and lime notes contributed to an eminently refreshing, understated accompaniment to a summer evening.

Paul Wilkins at Cafe del Mar said that: “Classic Ibiza and Cafe del Mar share a real symbiosis; it’s an iconic location, known for its music and its sunsets by this age group.

“The orchestra is absolutely amazing, and the people who come to Classic Ibiza love the music.”

He explained also that their spirits would be available more permanently soon: “We’re talking to bars and venues in Reading, so you’ll see us out there soon.

“You might also see us at Glastonbury, and lots more with Summertime Live during the coming weeks.”

Summertime Live is bringing Classic Ibiza to Windsor on Saturday, August 12, as well as a number of towns and cities around the UK this summer.
