AN AMERICAN fast food favourite is coming to Reading this summer.
Shake Shack, which specialises in burgers and milkshakes, is set to become the latest international food outlet bringing its offerings to the town.
It comes after Shake Shack was temporarily available via delivery in 2020, but now residents will be able to visit in person this summer.
It marks the 20th branch in the UK since it first launched in Covent Garden, London, in 2013.
Shake Shack offers American classics such as beef burgers and signature potato buns, as well as crispy chicken, milkshakes, house-made lemonade, beer, wine, and more–including Halal offerings.
While final preparations are made at the new restaurant in Broad Street, a mural by French artist Nerone has been put in place on the hoardings.
Richard Franks, Business Director at Shake Shack UK, said: “We’re absolutely stoked to be opening Shake Shack’s first permanent Reading location, and our 20th location in the UK.
“It’s such a vibrant town with a strong food scene, and it feels like a natural next step as we continue to grow across the UK.
“We can’t wait to put down roots here.”
