THAMES Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious collision near Reading which hospitalised a man in his eighties.

At around 2.30pm on Friday, May 1, a collision involving a red Mazda 2 and a blue Toyota Yaris took place on Purley Rise, Purley on Thames.

The driver of the Mazda, a man in his eighties, received serious injuries, and remains in hospital undergoing treatment.

No arrests have yet been made.

PC Jon Wildridge, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are carrying out an investigation following the serious injury to the driver of the Mazda.

“I would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw these vehicles in the area at this time to please come forward.
