A READING charity that promotes mental and physical health, thanks everyone who came to its March Daffodil Afternoon.
Visitors to Ridgeline’s garden event were able to enjoy some spring brightness while raising money for the charity’s horticultural therapy scssions, which benefit a wide range of people.
“We had an absolutely bumper afternoon, with over 300 visitors through the gate (compared with last year’s 162),” said Penny Walters from Ridgeline.
“And we made a record £1,215 compared with last year’s £774.29.
“Thank you to everyone who came to support us and who enjoyed delicious home baked cakes, bought plants or made a donation.
“We hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we did.”
Donations into the charity’s green buckets on the day will go towards the building of a willow gate for the entrance to Ridgeline’s wildlife area around the pond – visitors may have spotted the building of a ‘dead hedge’ in progress around the perimeter of the area.
“If you liked what you saw and are interested in joining our volunteer team supporting clients, would like to become a trustee or know someone who would benefit from social and therapeutic horticulture, please do get in touch,” said Penny.
The charity’s next event will be its annual plant sale at its Whiteknights Road Ridgeline Garden, on Sunday, May 17.
