A READING man has been jailed and banned from driving after being caught with nearly 100 drug wraps.

Pierre Atangana, 29 and of Kennet Walk, was driving a Ford Transit van that was stopped by Thames Valley Police at 2pm on Wednesday, January 24.

A search found 94 wraps of drugs with a street value of about £2,000. A phone was also discovered, and there was evidence it was being used to arrange to meet members of the public to sell crack cocaine and heroin.

Atangana was arrested and charged with the offences the following day.

At an earlier hearing on February 26, Atangana pleaded guilty to one count each of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs – crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs – heroin, acquiring criminal property, driving whilst disqualified, and using a motor vehicle with no insurance.

On Friday, April 5, Atangana was jailed for two years and six months, and forbidden from getting behind the wheel for two years.
