Reading will take on Spanish top-flight side Getafe as part of a pre-season training camp in Spain later this month.
Leam Richardson’s squad will travel to Alicante on Monday, 13 July, for five days of warm-weather training before facing the La Liga club on Friday, 17 July.
The friendly will kick off at 19:00 local time, with a limited number of Reading supporters able to attend.
Getafe, managed by José Bordalás, finished seventh in La Liga last season and will provide Reading with one of their toughest pre-season tests ahead of the new League One campaign.
The Royals said up to 100 supporters would be able to watch the match in Spain, with fans invited to register their interest through the club.
Reading begin their pre-season programme on Saturday with a trip to National League South side Farnborough (15:00 BST).
They will then face Newport County, Woking, Crawley Town and Charlton Athletic before the start of the 2026-27 season.
Richardson has overseen an active summer of recruitment so far as Reading prepare for another League One campaign, with the trip to Spain forming part of the club’s preparations ahead of the new season.
