Nominated for Team of the Year, Young Voices, sponsor Cherubs Floral Design

A group of children under 18 who have worked with Reading’s Community Safety Partnership (CSP) on projects related to crime reduction have been nominated for Team of the Year, sponsored by Cherubs Floral Design.

Young Voices, supported by youth counselling group No5 and mentoring charity Starting Point, have grown in stature, said their nominator, with young people from schools and colleges across Reading working on projects linked to public safety online and travel and retail crime.

They said: “The group created a young person’s version of the CSP strategy, led a summit attracting charitable leads from across UK to challenge local partners to look at online safety through child’s lens and, more recently, have started work on safe travel on the buses, safety for children in our retail space and work to address safety in parks and open spaces.”

They have been an inspirational group to work with, evolving into new and ever more complex community safety issues, they added.
