Lincoln City manager Michael Skubala claims that he believes the ball struck Jack Moylan in the face rather than his arm in Saturday’s League One match against Reading.
The Royals felt hard done by after referee Alex Chilowicz did not award them a penalty when the ball appeared to strike the hand of Moylan who blocked Paul Mukairu’s shot on the line.
“I haven’t seen it, I honestly haven’t seen it back,” said Skubala.
“All I thought was if someone is striking the ball at 100 miles an hour from a metre away, how are you going to get out of the way of it?
“I thought it hit his face. He said it hit his face, so it’s one of them.”
Ferddie Draper scored the opening goal of the contest for the Imps before Royals defender Tyler Bindon popped up with an 83rd minute leveller to see the points shared.
Skubala continued: “I think when you look at it over the 90, it is a fair point for both involved.
“It is a bit disappointing when you go one up and want to see it out.
“We’ve been good recently from set pieces so that is disappointing but all in all a fair point.”
The Royals are still six points above the drop zone with four matches left to play.
Ruben Selles’ team faces an away trip to Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night.
