A NEW operations manager has been appointed to a Henley-based brewery’s managed pubs division.
Marc Rawling is joining Brakspear’s Honeycomb Houses division, with responsibility for four pubs including The Bull on Bell Street in Henley, and The Chequers in Marlow.
Previously working for Fuller Smith and Turner, he has nearly two decades of experience in premium food-led pubs, wet-led pubs, and hotels – and that will help with the new role. He has also worked for Ask and Pitcher & Piano brands.
“I’ve been impressed by the way Brakspear has developed the Honeycomb Houses group: each pub has its individual character, but there’s a clear, overarching ethos of ‘our house, your home’ across the estate,” he said.
“I see the biggest opportunity as being to embed that ethos and values with all our team members, as the best way to give the best experience to every guest, on every visit to our pubs.”
And he is looking forward to joining at the most wonderful time of the year.
“We’re about to go into a busy time, launching new menus later this month and gearing up for Christmas, so my immediate priority will be to support our pubs to deliver an exceptional festive season,” he said.
Brakspear chief executive Tom Davies was delighted, saying Mr Rawling would be an enormous asset
“We’re confident that Marc will quickly make a positive difference to Honeycomb Houses,” he said.
The appointment follows the recent recruitment of Simone Brown as the firm’s first head of people.
